Two charged after shooting on Borchard Street

On Saturday night around 10:45pm the Rochester Police Department responded to Borchard Street after receiving a 911 call for a man with a gun who was threatening to shoot someone.  As the caller was on the phone with the 911 dispatcher, gunshots could be heard.

As officers arrived on scene, they found Victor Cuffie, 38, lying in the doorway of the home suffering from a gunshot wound.  Mr. Cuffie was transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

As officers were searching the rest of the home, they say that Prince Pressley, 42, jumped from a second floor window and attempted to flee the scene.  Mr. Pressley was apprehended by officers and taken into custody.  Mr. Pressley was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for low body injuries.

Investigators with the Rochester Police Department stated that preliminary investigation indicated that Mr. Cuffie and Mr. Pressley both pointed firearms at each other during an argument, at which point they both fired their weapons.  Investigators did locate narcotics, a loaded handgun, and evidence of a shooting within the residence.

Mr. Cuffie and Mr. Pressley are prohibited from carrying a firearm due to previous weapons convictions, and are now being charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
