Thousands showed up for Juneteenth celebration at MLK Park
On Saturday afternoon Martin Luther King Jr Park held the annual Juneteenth Celebration. There were a couple hundred people who attended the event.
The event had live music, food trucks, and vendors. There were also numerous activities for kids, which included games and face painting.
Juneteenth celebrates the date of June 19, 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas learned of their freedom from slavery in the United States.
