Teenager killed in North Street shooting

On Sunday evening around 6:00pm the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of North Street and Herald Street for a report of a person shot. When officers arrived on scene, they found a male victim lying in the roadway who had sustained at least one gunshot wound.

The victim, who is a teenager was pronounced dead on scene.

The Rochester Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is on scene along with the command van.

The area will be closed off to the public for the next couple of hours while officers investigate the incident.

This is Rochester’s first homicide of 2022.
