One killed, Multiple people shot, Police pursuit all in one day in Rochester



The Rochester Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Friday night in the 100 block of Seward Street in Rochester, New York.

Around 11:00pm Friday evening the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of 100 block of Seward for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found a female in her 40’s with a gunshot wound to her upper body. The female was pronounced dead on scene.


The Rochester Police Department advised that they have no suspects in custody.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.


Driver hits numerous cars before attempting to flee

On Friday evening the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of Chili Avenue and Thurston Road for a report of a multi-vehicle crash. As officers arrived on scene, they found a 31-year-old male driving a Chevy Impala south on Gardiner Avenue, who had struck multiple vehicles. The driver of the Impala continued to drive south, running a red light, and was struck by a vehicle in the intersection.

After crashing, the driver of the Impala then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee, but was stopped by a group of bystanders who witnessed the events.

A male and a female were injured during the crash and were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

As officers investigated the incident, they found that the driver of the Impala sideswiped two vehicles as they were traveling south on Gardiner Avenue.


The Rochester Police Department is investigating the incident. No charges have been filed as of this time.



Two shot on Magnolia Street

On Friday night the Rochester Police Department responded to the area of 400 Magnolia Street for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they found two females who had suffered from at least one gunshot wound.


The two females were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Both females are in their 30’s.

The Rochester Police Department is investigating the shooting. No suspects are in custody.
