One dead after building fire on Saint Paul Street


On Friday night just after 7:00pm the Rochester Fire Department responded to the Andrews Terrace Apartment complex located at 125 Saint Paul Street in Rochester, New York for a report of a fire. As firefighters arrived on scene, they did locate smoke and flames coming from an apartment on one of the upper floors of the apartment building. A second alarm was called.


Firefighters quickly got residents out of the building, while they were fighting the fire. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to just the one apartment. The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes. As firefighters were checking the apartment, they did locate an individual deceased within the apartment.

The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
