Multiple people shot on State Street, 2 dead in separate shootings overnight
Police say 2:30am the Rochester Police Department responded to 547 State St. for
the report of multiple people shot. Upon arrival officers found a large crowd dispersing from the 500 block of State St. Officers also found multiple shooting victims. The first victim, a male in his 20's, was found outside in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. This victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The second victim, a male in his 30's, was found on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body. This male was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with what are considered non-life threatening injuries. The third victim, a male in his 30's, was found near the corner of Lyell Ave and State St suffering from a stab wound to his body. This victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital and is being treated for what are considered non-life threatening injuries During the preliminary investigation it was determined that a non-sanctioned "after-hours party" was being hosted at a restaurant named Burrito Urbana located at 547 State St.
While patrons were outside of this location an argument of some type occurred, shots were fired and victim one and two were struck by gunfire. Victim three was working a hot dog cart at the corner of Lyell Ave and State St. After the shots were fired several patrons rushed to this corner presumably to avoid getting hit by gun fire. It was at this time that the third victim was stabbed. At this time investigators do not know what led up to this stabbing.
Person shot and killed on Olean Street
Police say they were at this homicide before they responded to State Street.
At 1:45am officers responded to 162 Olean St for the report of a person shot. Upon arrival officers found 20-vear old James Hallenbeck from Rochester, NY on the sidewalk suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his upper body.
Hallenbeck lived in the neighborhood and was pronounced dead at the scene.
There are no suspects in custody for any of these crimes.
