Multiple people injured and in custody after a police chase in the city of Rochester


On Saturday evening around10:20pm officers with the Rochester Police Department spotted a stolen vehicle that was taken at gunpoint two days ago in the area of Avenue C and Hollenbeck Street. As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the vehicle fled. Officers did pursue the vehicle.


During the pursuit, the vehicle collided with two vehicles in the area of Lyell Avenue and Frankfort Street. Two suspects in the vehicle were taken into custody. One suspect was a 16-year-old city residence. The second suspect was a 22-year-old city residence.

After the crash, both suspects complained of being in pain and were taken to a local hospital where they were evaluated and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.


One of the occupants in the vehicle that was struck was also transported to a local hospital. She reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries.


The Rochester Police Department is still investigating the incident to see if it related to any of the recent carjackings.
