Mass shooting kills 1, injuries others
Early Monday morning the Rochester Police responded to the Walmart located on Hudson Avenue for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they did find evidence of gunshots, but no victims. As officers were conducting their preliminary investigation in the Walmart parking lot, officers were notified of 4 victims that arrived at Rochester General Hospital via private vehicle.
One of the victims, 18-year-old Angel Gonzalez-Pagan was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 43-year-old male in is critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Two other males, a 23-year-old and a 31-year-old suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Rochester Police Captain Frank Umbrino advised that at the time of the incident, there were approximately a hundred people in the parking lot. Captain Umbrino stated that witnesses have told detectives that about 50 rounds were fired during the incident.
The Rochester Police Department advised that there are no suspects in custody at this time.
