Man smashes police cruiser windows after being wanted

Rochester Police Department has a man in custody and is also facing several charges.

Police say this incident started around 10 A.M when police responded to a domestic violence call on Kay Terrace.

Police say the 25 year-old woman involved was seriously injured and transported to University of Rochester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.


Around 12:15 PM officers attempted to pull over the 41-year-old suspect at the Valero gas station on N Clinton Avenue. Police say he stopped momentarily, then escalated to him hitting a police vehicle, crashing into the police patrol vehicle.


Police tells us he hit two other vehicles unrelated to the incident.

Police say the man later stepped out of the vehicle with a large metal pole, and began hitting the patrol car, damaging it.


Police say they used a beanbag gun and an electroshock device to subdue the man.


He was taken to Rochester General Hospital and will face multiple charges.

Police says no other citizens were injured.
