Male shot and killed on Weld Street in front of family members and friends

Rochester police are investigating a homicide on Weld Street that occurred around 1:10 PM. Officers responded to the area after receiving 911 calls of a male shot. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a male in his mid-20s who was shot. The male was pronounced dead on scene.

Family members, friends, and nearby citizens witnessed the killing. Some say it was brutal and uncalled for. Family members were hugging each other and crying wishing there were other answers.

Police confirms there are witnesses coming forward and they are using everything possible to solve this investigation.

There are no suspects in custody from this shooting and police will release the victims information later in the day.
