Male jumps off structure with baby

On Friday night around 11:45pm the Rochester Police Department received a 911 call from a female claiming her husband was having a mental health crisis in the South Avenue Parking Garage on South Avenue in Rochester, New York.

According to Rochester Police Department, the male in his 40’s went to the top floor of the parking garage. While holding his son, the male then jumped from the top floor of the parking garage. When officers arrived on scene, they found the male along with his 1-year-old child lying on the ground. The male was pronounced dead on scene.

The 1-year-old child was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The Rochester Police Department is investigating the incident.
