Male dead after being shot in the torso at Genesee Valley Park

Police says around 9:55 P.M. officers were call to Genesee Valley Park for a person shot. When officers arrived on scene they saw a couple hundred people trying to leave the park. Witnesses and family members attempted to transport the male but was unable to get through all the traffic that was trying to leave.

An AMR ambulance was able to arrive on scene before the private vehicle left and transported the male to the U of R Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The male suffered at least one gunshot wound to the torso.

There are no suspects in custody.

Police are asking the community, family members, and friends to step up to help solve the case.
