Dewey Avenue fire destroys home

Around 9:25pm Wednesday the Rochester Fire Department responded to a reported house fire on Dewey Avenue near Clay Avenue. As firefighters arrived on scene, they found smoke and flames coming from a three-story home. Firefighters were advised that there were 3 people trapped inside the residence.

Firefighters were able to rescue the three individuals trapped in the residence. The 3 individuals were evaluated on scene, their conditions are unknown.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire shortly after their arrival.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
